Espreson has already summed up its previous posts in, “It Is Again Sum Up Time For Good Blogging Practice“. So, again a new start up. Lets see what next…
How to make the blog more reader friendly? This question always strike my mind; and as a solution I usually add and evaluate some good Wordpress plugins. One day it struck in my mind, ”lets make the archive page more reader friendly“. So, started researching on it and found Extended Live Archives Wordpress plugin.
One word on Extended Live Archives Wordpress plug-in; it is awesome! Although it is in beta version but still works great. So, if you want to make your blog more interactive and reader friendly, E.L.A(Extended Live Archive) is a must have plug-in for your blog.
E.L.A shows your archived posts in two ways, Chronologically and Taxonomically. Just have a look,

If you need hand on experience you can visit my Archive page also. Downloading and installing this plug-in is not a tough job. But before that you need to install another plug-in called, “runPHP“. runPHP is a WordPress plug-in that enables users to embed PHP code directly into their posts or pages. After installing and activating runPHP plug-in, you can follow the below steps to successfully install the E.L.A.
- Download and unzip the E.L.A plug-in.
- Upload the af-extended-archive directory and its content to your wp-content/plugins/ directory.
- Make the cache directory permission set to 0777 (refer to your webhost knowledge-base if need be)
- Activate the plug-in and visit the option->Ext. Live Archive page once to initialize it.
- Go to Manage and create a new Page giving title as Archive or your choice.
- Put
<?php af_ela_super_archive(); ?>in Page Content turning Code view.
Never Ever! forget to check this box (find it right hand side of Page Content).
So, that is all about installation part of E.L.A.

Making your blog more interactive and reader friendly can be considered as Good Blogging Practice too.

I can’t let it work with WordPress 2.2. Any idea?
But when I tried to set the Permalinks to Default, it works. Weird. Any idea? Can’t find any post on support page. Or ELA is not yet tested in WP 2.2. Any comment is appreciated. Hmmm.. I like your post page, what plugin is that where you can see what you are typing below?? Giggle
This is great, look forward to looking into every area. Thanks for being there.
